The Challenge

Lack of a Mobile-Friendly Donation Form

South Plains Food Bank was working with a legacy donation form built on their CRM that did not have the ability to emphasize the great work the food bank was doing visually, nor was it mobile-friendly. With their email and website hosted on HubSpot, they were sending mobile-optimized emails and driving traffic to a mobile-friendly site, yet donors did not have the same experience when it came to donating.

The Solution

Mobile Optimization

RKD undertook a major redesign of their main donation form, which focused on responsive coding, highlighting successes, removing navigation, and pre-select options.

The final design featured chiclet-style donation amount buttons instead of radial buttons, is built with responsive coding, and has the ability to pre-select gift amounts and giving type. Moreover, the gift linkages copy can change based on the gift-type.

Breakthrough

Conversion Rate Jump

Conversion rates jumped to 44% within 60 days of launch.  The visual impact of a website or donation form is critical in constructing the opinion of the donor about your organization. People make snap judgments without thinking twice based of whether or not they like what they see, so we do our best to make sure they do. Design psychology is an indispensable tool for nonprofits, and if you ignore it, you’re likely to lose possible donors.
