< Back to Results Emergency response and fundraising for Los Angeles Mission The Challenge In 2025, wildfires ravaged Los Angeles, causing widespread destruction and impacting lives, homes, businesses, schools and hospitals. Los Angeles Mission, a long-standing client, had employees and donors in the path of the fires. The RKD team quickly mobilized to support the Mission’s emergency fundraising efforts, allowing the client to focus on the well-being of their people. Our Role Digital Media Mid-Major Programs The Solution Within hours, the RKD team created a fire-emergency campaign that included a custom landing page and lightbox with links to minute-by-minute fire resource information for those affected in LA. This campaign addressed not only Los Angeles Mission’s typical clients but also their core donor base, who were now in need of help and vital safety information. The Results The team swiftly launched various fundraising initiatives in the first 48 hours: An email campaign was created and deployed within 24 hours, speaking to the heart of those impacted and recognizing that recipients might be in need of help themselves. A lightbox was generated, media ads were placed in the market, emergency need texts were sent, and a homepage banner was deployed, along with landing pages that provided an organized location for individuals to both request aid and provide aid during this emergency. The RKD Transformational Giving team secured a $100,000 gift from Pepsi to meet the immediate needs of Angelinos affected by the fire, including water, food, legal help with insurance policies, clothing, etc. These needs were sourced, addressed and distributed through use of an online form that kept relief aid organized and well documented for the major-donor corporation who stepped up for the community. Los Angeles Mission became a central hub for relief in LA during this time of immense uncertainty and need, thanks to the swift and effective actions of the RKD team.
